The Oura Ring subscription is called Oura Membership. In the UK it costs £5.99 a month or £69.99 a year, after tax, on top of the ring. New members get the first month free. At the time of writing (October 2026), an Oura Ring 5 plus membership costs about £537 over two years. Over five years it is about £750.
Below: what the membership pays for and what the ring does if you stop paying. Then the full cost over one to five years. Every figure comes from Oura's own UK prices.
Key takeaways
- At the time of writing (October 2026), UK membership is £5.99 a month or £69.99 a year, after tax.
- New members get the first month free. Membership starts when you activate the ring.
- Without membership, Oura says the ring and app still work, but with much more limited insights.
- Over five years, membership adds about £350 to the price of the ring, monthly or yearly.
- If you mainly want sleep, HRV and a daily readiness answer, a ring with no subscription never costs more.
How much is the Oura Ring subscription? Oura Membership UK prices
Oura calls its subscription Oura Membership, and uses that name across its website. Its membership page lists UK pricing at £5.99 a month or £69.99 a year, after tax. That was the price at the time of writing (October 2026). New members get their first month free.
Two details are easy to miss. First, the membership starts as soon as you activate your ring, not when you first open a paid feature. Second, upgrading to a newer Oura Ring does not mean a second membership. Oura says you add the new ring as a device and keep the same plan.
The membership price is separate from the ring. At the time of writing, the Oura Ring 5 in Silver is listed at £399 on Oura's UK store.
What does Oura Membership pay for?
According to Oura, membership is what turns the ring's sensor data into daily scores and personal insights. The membership page groups these into several areas. They are sleep and rest, heart health, activity and movement, stress, women's health and metabolic health. Oura says members can track over 50 health metrics.
Membership also includes Oura Advisor, which Oura describes as its AI-powered health companion. Any new features Oura adds to the app are included while you remain a member.
That is a fair amount for £5.99 a month if you use it. The question is how much of it you will open each week. If you check one morning score and get on with your day, most of it sits unused.
Does an Oura Ring work without a membership?
Partly. Oura's own FAQ says the ring and the app still function if you do not start or continue a membership. But it adds that the insights, personal health data and benefits you receive will be much more limited. In other words, the hardware keeps working, while most of the reasons people buy an Oura sit behind the membership.
If you cancel, Oura says your data stays saved as long as you do not delete your account. It comes back if you rejoin. You can also export your data as a CSV file from the Membership Hub without being a member. You keep full access until the end of the billing period you have already paid for.
Is an Oura Ring worth it without a subscription?
For most people, no. You would be paying £399 for a ring whose main features Oura itself describes as much more limited without membership. If you do not want a monthly fee, budget for the membership from the start. Or choose a ring that does not charge one.
What does Oura Ring membership cost over one to five years?
Here is the maths using Oura's UK prices at the time of writing (October 2026). The Oura Ring 5 is £399. Membership is £5.99 a month or £69.99 a year, with the first month free on the monthly plan. Prices change, so check Oura's site before you buy.
| Years owned | Monthly membership | Ring plus monthly | Annual membership | Ring plus annual | PulseRing Pro, no subscription |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 year | £65.89 | £464.89 | £69.99 | £468.99 | £89 |
| 2 years | £137.77 | £536.77 | £139.98 | £538.98 | £89 |
| 3 years | £209.65 | £608.65 | £209.97 | £608.97 | £89 |
| 5 years | £353.41 | £752.41 | £349.95 | £748.95 | £89 |
How the numbers were worked out
- Monthly: the first month is free, so year one has 11 paid months at £5.99 (£65.89). Two years is 23 paid months (£137.77). Three years is 35 (£209.65) and five years is 59 (£353.41).
- Annual: £69.99 for each year. We have not applied the free month to the annual plan. Oura's page does not say how the two combine.
- Ring: £399 for the Oura Ring 5 in Silver on Oura's UK store. Other finishes may cost more.
Two things stand out. Monthly and annual end up within a few pounds of each other over five years. So pick whichever suits your cash flow. And over five years, the membership alone costs almost as much as a second ring.
Is Oura Membership worth it?
It can be. Oura Membership makes sense if you:
- Want features that need temperature sensing, such as cycle and ovulation insights.
- Will use the AI health companion and the wider range of metrics most weeks.
- Value regular new features and are happy to pay for them as they arrive.
- Prefer a smaller monthly amount to a larger one-off price.
It is harder to justify if you mainly want three answers. How did you sleep, how recovered are you, and should you train hard today? Those core answers do not need a monthly fee.
Our guide to smart rings without a subscription compares the two-year cost of several rings, including WHOOP's strap. Our comparison of Oura Ring alternatives looks at five rings that do not charge for core data.
PulseRing Pro costs £89 once, with no subscription. It reads heart rate, HRV, blood oxygen and sleep stages overnight. Each morning you get one readiness score and one call: push, maintain or rest. It does not read skin temperature or track your cycle. So it is not a like-for-like Oura replacement if you need those.
How to keep the cost of an Oura Ring down
- Use the free month properly. Wear the ring every night of the first month and note which features you open. That tells you whether the membership earns its keep.
- Decide on monthly or annual after the trial. Over a few years the totals are close, so the main difference is flexibility. Monthly lets you stop sooner.
- Export your data before you cancel. Oura lets you download a CSV from the Membership Hub. It keeps your account data if you do not delete it.
- Keep the membership when you upgrade. A newer Oura Ring can be added to the same membership, so you do not need a second one.
- Check the ring price too. The finish you choose changes the upfront cost, and the membership is the same whichever you pick.
