What is inside
A titanium smart ring of about 4 grams that reads heart rate, HRV, blood oxygen and sleep stages overnight. After about two weeks it gives one call each morning: push, maintain or rest. Up to 7 days per charge, rated 5ATM, and no subscription.
A contoured sleep mask with moulded eye cups, so nothing presses on the eyelids.
Drug-free nasal strips that lift the sides of the nose from the outside, so breathing through the nose takes less effort. Nothing goes inside.
It holds the lips gently closed. That is all it does. It is not for everyone, so check the list below before it goes under the tree.
Bought separately they come to £145.97, so the set saves £16.97. The ring has no membership, so the gift does not arrive with a monthly bill.
Who it suits
Someone who lifts, runs or plays sport and guesses every morning whether to go hard. The ring turns the night into one call: push, maintain or rest.
Someone who blames the street light, the early sunrise or a dry mouth for a poor night. The set gives them a darker room, easier nose breathing and a way to see whether either made a difference.
Some well-known rings charge a membership to show the full picture. PulseRing Pro does not: every metric and the morning call are in the price.
Nothing in the set is made for one sex. The ring in the set comes in Midnight Black or Champagne Gold, and for larger hands our smart ring for men page covers sizing up to 14.
They want skin temperature or cycle tracking, which PulseRing Pro does not read, they will not wear anything to bed, or they are worried about their sleep or breathing. That last one is a conversation with a GP, not a present.
Before you give it
PulseRing Pro is not a medical device. It does not detect or diagnose sleep apnoea or any other condition, it cannot hear snoring, and its sleep stages are estimates. It shows trends, which is what it is for. More on our sleep ring page.
Do not use it if the nose is blocked; with sleep apnoea, diagnosed or suspected, unless a sleep specialist has advised it; with asthma, COPD or another breathing condition, unless a doctor has advised it; if covering the mouth brings on anxiety or claustrophobia; if there is any risk of vomiting; or after alcohol, sleeping tablets or anything sedating. Never use it on a child. Wear one strip for 20 minutes while awake before the first night.
Not for children under 3, or for broken, sore or sunburnt skin. For a blocked nose that lasts, a pharmacist or GP is the better first stop.
None of the four treats snoring, insomnia or anything else. They change the room and the routine; the ring shows whether the change made a difference for that person.
The mask currently carries its maker's logo, which our photos do not show, and the mouth tape arrives in its maker's pack. We are sourcing unbranded replacements. If that matters for a present, ask us before you order.
When it is a surprise
The ring in the Sleep Reset System comes in US sizes 8 to 11. If you think they are a 7, or 12 to 14, buy PulseRing Pro on its own (sizes 7 to 14) and add the strips and tape.
A ring they already wear on the finger you have in mind is a starting point. Smart rings sit a little differently from jewellery, so treat it as a good guess, not a measurement.
Every ring order includes one free size exchange, asked for within 30 days of delivery. In the UK we send a prepaid label for the ring coming back; outside the UK you post it back, and wherever you are we pay to send the new size.
If you can ask without giving the game away, the PulseRing Sizing Tape costs £6.99, refunded against the ring: the tape's order confirmation includes a code for £6.99 off the ring or the set, used with the same email address.
Returns and size exchanges run for 30 days from delivery, not from the day the wrapping comes off. Order too early and the window can close before the present is opened.
